PROFESSOR FADUL
Daniel's first contact with Capoeira was in the Market Model in Salvador, Bahia at twelth years of age. He learnt to play the berimbau this was his main interest as he passionate about surfing. At sixteen after surfing a Capoeirista called Marcelo offered him lessons for the simple interest to transmit these teachings and believed Daniel to have the ability and could use it to help to surf. Marcelo was pupil of João Pequeno and after one year he thought Daniel was ready to go to the Mestre and play with the other capoeiristas in the group in the Forte of Santo Antonio.Marcelo was like a son to Mestre João Pequeno. When Daniel informed the Mestre who had trained him, the Mestre gave Daniel much attention. Over time Daniel heard many accounts of historic stories from the Master João Pequeno and received many other teachings of much value.A friend introduced Daniel to the Academy of Bimba in the Pelourinho where he made many friends because they admired his skills to play Angola. Then Daniel met Mestre Nô and joined the group Palmares. As a child he had already seen Mestre Nô when he was trained in the Portuguese club. Daniels partners are from high middle class and preferred registering Daniel into karate because Capoeira was seen as from the ghettos at that time. Nowadays they have realized how important capoeira has been for Daniel physical and mentally. In the year of 1992 Daniel began to teach the beginners, organizes the rodas of the group palmares and maintaining the instruments. In 1993 Daniel made his first trip with Mestre Nô for a baptizado in northeast Brasil. This trip included Campina Grande, Joâo Pessoa, Recife, Aracaju and helped Mestre Nô graduations of dozens of students. Participating in presentations for the group Palmares. In 1994 travelled with Mestre Nô, Mestre Beto Barauna and Mestre Lincoln for batizados and visited quilombo of the Palmares. Daniel also participated in the international meetings of the group in the island Itaparica where he learnt how to product berimbau. In the 1994 Daniel started a group in the village of Jaguaribe. In the same year he created the group of capoeira in the architecture college where he studied and spent the next four years teaching and travelling around Brazil leading workshops of berimbau. Daniel knew and played with famous masters as: João Pequeno, Paulo Dos Anjos, Bobó, Curió, Ferreirinha, Jogo de Dentro, Nenel, Electricista, Moraes, Lua Rasta, Beto Barauna, Linconly, Master Orelha, Pinho Cabeludo, Moraes, Federal, Gaje of the Market Model, Meste China and Masters of street as King kong, Decente, Dois de Ouro. ''For me Capoeira is unique. It joins the body and the mind in just one exercise. It brings people together in the moment of the roda, where there are no differences; everyone is equal in front of the birimbau. For a tune the bodies balance and enlace together as one. There is no space for defeat therefore when you fall in the roda of Capoeira you learn. Capoeira is a lesson. Capoeira can be though of as a dialogue, existing in questions and answers. You do not answer before being questioned and you also dont make ten questions without leaving the other person space to answer. Much less to answer something that was not asked.A question with respect, good behaviour, self-confidence and education is everything. Every time you play with somebody you learn, reply and it will develop you.To be a Capoeirista is to be a person with a deep vision of life and knowledge of relationships. This is relevant in all stages of our lives. How you respect the others, yourself and plan for the future.''Daniel Fadul
